Here are some important dates regarding Back to School for the upcoming school year:
July 20th: Online Registration Begins (If you have forgotten your Skyward password...you can call the school at 217-482-5180 ext. 1105)
July 31st & Aug 1st: IC Pre-K Free Screening at 8 a.m.
August 3rd: New Student and In-Person Registration from 2 to 7 p.m. in both offices (HS/MS & GS)
August 7th: 6th Grade Orientation from 6 to 8 p.m.
August 9th: Freshmen Orientation from 6 to 8 p.m. (This is different from the original date on the invitation)
August 16th: Open House ICGS from 5 to 6 p.m. & ICMS/ICHS from 6 to 7 p.m.
August 17th: 1st day of Student Attendance

The IC Board of Education will hold its June meeting on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at 7:00 pm at the Mason City Public Library. The google meet link is meet.google.com/gov-sgxb-yzo
Free Children's Books!
Illini Central has a number of children's books that we would like to find good homes as we begin shuffling spaces prior to the start of our new building project.
The school will be open on Wednesday, June 21st from 3:00-4:30 and again from 6:00-7:00. Please enter through Door A (the HS front door) during those times if you are interested.

Illini Central Summer School Program 2023 will include breakfast and is open to the community for children 18 and younger from 7:35 am – 8:00 am in the cafeteria on the following dates
● June 13, 14, 15, 16 (Tues-Fri) ● July 10, 11, 12, 13 (Mon-Thurs)
● June 20, 21, 22, 23 (Tues-Fri) ● July 17, 18, 19, 20 (Mon-Thurs)
● June 27, 28, 29, 30 (Tues-Fri) ● July 24, 25, 26, 27 (Mon-Thurs)

Last Thursday, the Illini Central FFA held their annual petting zoo. It was a beautiful day for this event that is loved by all of the IC students.

The 8th Grade Commitment to Graduation Ceremony will occur on Wednesday, May 24th at 6:30 pm.
All 8th graders should arrive no later than 6:00 and meet in the cafeteria. Students should wear jeans and their Class of 2027 T-shirts that will be given out at practice.
Doors will open at 6:00 pm.
8th graders will not be in attendance on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
The IC Board of Education will hold its May meeting Thursday, May 18 at 7 pm at the Mason City Public Library. The Google Meet link is meet.google.com/niv-qtkm-oqd
IC schools have lifted the soft lockdown. Pre-K transportation will resume, but may be a few minutes late. All other school activity has resumed as normal.
The morning Pre-K dismisses at 10:30. Bus service will be delayed until the soft lockdown is lifted. We will notify parents via text when this occurs.
Illini Central schools are currently in a soft lockdown. There is not a threat to the school, students or staff. This is at the request of the Mason City Police Department in response to actions they are performing in the community.
This past Saturday...the ICMS Track & Field team competed in the IESA Sectional meet with athletes having a chance to advance to State.
Here are our kids who advanced & will travel to State this weekend:
7th grader Laney Anderson who finished 1st in the 400.
7th grader Carter Flairty who finished 1st in discus.
7th graders Carter Flairty, Jackson Shaffer and 6th graders Kyrazz Thompson and Jace Toland who finished with a state qualifying time in the 4x200 relay.
Congratulations to Laney, Carter, Jackson, Kyrazz & Jace! We are proud of you.
The #1 seeded ICMS Scholastic Bowl team heads to Greenview this afternoon for the IESA Regional.
Our kids compete at 4 & 6 p.m. The Regional Championship match will begin at 7 p.m.

Reminder: IC schools will dismiss Wednesday, April 26 at 11:30 am for school improvement planning activities.
On Tuesday, April 25th, all 8th graders and juniors will complete the Illinois Science Assessment. This will take place first thing in the morning, so it is essential that students bring their Chromebooks to school fully-charged.

Earlier this week, we posted that Senior Mahlea Lusher had been named Student of the Month.
Today...The Class wanted to share The Cougar Connection Podcast that Junior Kamber Arthalony recorded with Mahlea on Tuesday.

Beginning tomorrow (4/12-4/19), ICMS students will begin the Illinois Assessment of Readiness testing. Because the test is online, students must bring their Chromebooks charged each day.
