As expected, the governor has declared the school days between March 31 and April 7 as remote learning days.  Beginning Tuesday, March 31st, we will shift from the recommended learning activities that we shared last to an expectation of participation. The Remote Learning Plan can be found at the district website www.illinicentral.org

Moving forward, students will be expected to complete activities and assignments. Overall grades will not be harmed by poor performance on the assignment or lack of access to materials. However, students who show a pattern of not completing  work will be given an "incomplete" for the quarter/semester and that work will be expected to be made up upon return to school. It is vital that students make an honest effort to complete work.

The amount of time required by students to spend on learning tasks has been lowered from our previous expectations. Please refer to the Remote Learning Plan for grade-specific details. We hope that this reduction of time on task will help students and families make the adjustment to remote learning.

Middle and high school students will be required to complete an attendance verification form on a daily basis. Students can access this from the district page at www.illinicentral.org.  Grade school attendance will be verified by a weekly email or note from parents.

It is important to remember that we are all new to this.  The transition will take patience, hard work, and time. It is safe to say that we will all make mistakes along the way and will have to adjust.  We must all work together, remain flexible, and communicate effectively in order to successfully move forward.

If you do not have access to the internet, please contact the school at 217-482-5180 extension 1815 so that we can arrange for your child to have access to educational materials.
