We have been studying nonrenewable resources in Earth science class. We had a lab where we could explore mining and see how it affects the environment. The students got to mine chocolate chips out of cookies and see how good they were at it. They even got to see how much money they would make based on how many chocolate chips they mined, the environmental impact, and how long it took them to mine.
