Students Working on a STEM Project

Upon returning from spring break, students in Physical Science spent the week relating March Madness to the concepts they are studying in class. Students built mini catapults by using their knowledge of Newton's laws, momentum, force, gravity, projectiles and much more. Students were given basic directions to build a generic catapult and then they were given time to test it out. They could also alter their design by using their own engineering skills and ideas.  Students ended the week with a shootout. The students who earned the most points (by scoring baskets) earned some extra credit! Overall, it was a great way to return from spring break! The students had some fun and definitely generated many great ideas!
