One of the positives this school year has brought is we are back to doing more labs and hands-on activities.
Students in Chemistry just completed the flame test lab. Several students commented it was their favorite lab! Students took compounds with varying metals and placed small amounts in the flame to observe what color it produced. Once students obtained their information, they were given an unknown compound and had to identify the compound using the information they had gathered. Students also discussed how the colors were produced by the energy from electrons moving.
