Prior to Career Day, students were surveyed about their potential career interests. Mrs. Amanda Holley, district social worker, and Mrs. Jennifer Durbin, middle and high school principal, organized students into groups based upon students’ interests for the first session. For the second session, students were allowed to choose which speaker session they would like to attend to be exposed to a different career field. At the conclusion of the day, the speakers were scattered throughout the cafeteria, so students could meet individually and ask questions of the guests. ICHS students and staff would like to thank the presenters for taking their time to invest in our students’ futures.
ICHS would like to make this an annual event for our students. If anyone is interested in participating, please contact Amanda Holley, aholley@illinicentral.org or Jennifer Durbin, jdurbin@illinicentral.org.. Additionally, we will have other opportunities throughout the year for community businesses to be involved in our Capstone Project.
