Mrs. Banister's 5th Graders did an experiment on the difference between physical changes in matter versus chemical changes in matter. They added sugar to water and it dissolved causing a physical change. Then they made Elephant Toothpaste! They added warm water to yeast in one bowl and hydrogen peroxide with food coloring and dish soap to the other bowl. Using a funnel they added both together in a bottle and it turned into a blue foamy mixture that erupted out of the bottle. The students loved it!!
