Later today, our teachers and staff will finalize the plans to begin delivering instruction and learning activities remotely. In preparation for this, we will distribute Chromebooks on Wednesday, March 25.
In order to do this while maintaining social distancing practices, we will distribute the Chromebooks curbside in the east parking lot of the campus. Chromebooks will be issued to students in grades 2-12. We want to keep your wait time to a minimum, and to do this we will use the following distribution schedule.
Student last names A-G-8:00-9:00 am
Student last names H-P-9:00-10:00 am
Student last names R-Z-10:00-11:00 am
Students in Pre-K-1st grade will not be issued Chromebooks as they do not use them daily. Teachers will have appropriate plans for these students.
If you have students in your household with different last names, you may pick up all of your devices at one time, you will not have to return for multiple trips. We ask that you please do your best to follow this schedule.
We will also distribute instruments to band members. If your student is in band, please notify staff members when you arrive at the pick up point.
We have had several requests for students to come to the building to pick up textbooks and supplies. The CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health have issued guidelines regarding the size of gatherings. So, at this time, we are not allowing this. Teachers realize that students do not have textbooks and are prepared to make adjustments. If you do not have supplies at home, we can assist. Please call 217-482-5180 extension 1815.
Later today, we will release information detailing our plans to continue educating students during the closure. These plans will be found on the website. We will call, email, and text when these are posted.
