At dismissal, the grade school received a call indicating that the caller had a gun and wanted to inflict harm. He indicated to staff that he was on campus, but not in the building. We placed the entire school on lockdown and secured students inside the building. The police and Mr. Ward searched the premises and indicated that the threat was not present. The police are investigating the call, and they will have a presence on campus tomorrow during the school day. We will resume school tomorrow.

We have lifted the lockdown order and are dismissing students. We will release more information shortly.

All IC schools will dismiss at 2pm on Tuesday, December 19 and Wednesday, December 20, 2023. School will resume on January 4, 2024.

Over the last few days, we know there has been a lot of discussion regarding the Illini Central High School volleyball program. The Board of Education does not plan to make any changes to the volleyball coaching staff. The board looks forward to working with all coaches in order to provide quality programs for our students. The board welcomes community input and encourages the community to contact either the school administration or the school board with any concerns.

IC schools will dismiss on Wednesday, September 27 at 11:30 am. The IC Pre-K program will hold a half-day event for parents and students running from 8 am to 10:30 am. There is no bussing for Pre-K students tomorrow.

Good Saturday morning, Illini Central Cougar fans! A lot of our great kids are headed in multiple directions this morning to compete for their school. Members of the ICHS Golf Team are heading to Shambolee Golf Course in Petersburg for the PORTA Invite. The Delavan/Illini Central High School Cross Country team will be running at the Springfield High Meet. The ICMS Cross Country team is on their way to compete in the Olympia Invite. The Lady Cougar Volleyball team travels to Springfield Calvary for a tournament.
