The Illini Central CUSD#189 Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 20 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held in Modular Building #2. ICMS Baseball Practice for today has been cancelled. Practice tomorrow will be from 10-11:30.

We received good news on Friday...the I.E.S.A. made the decision based on the guideline changes from last week to allow Fall sports. Some of the practices will begin on Wednesday August 5th. Baseball will practice from 10:00 - 11:30. Softball will practice from 4:00 - 5:15. Cross Country will practice from 8:00 - 10:00. ICMS & ICHS Golf and ICHS Cross Country will all begin Monday August 10th. Golf will practice from 9-11 for HS and 10-12 for MS. Well...we took a day to digest the information that was posted by the IHSA on Wednesday afternoon. Here is what we know: High school volleyball has been moved to after the 1st of the year. The start date is scheduled for February 15th & will end on May 1st. High School Golf & Cross Country are a go for August 10. A week ago today, the IESA cancelled the Fall sports...Golf, Softball, Baseball & Cross Country. At the time of their decision...they did not have the guidelines that were shared on Wednesday. Per their own press release..."We (IESA) are reviewing all of this information." So we are waiting to hear from them regarding any changes to what they posted last week. Earlier today...the IESA announced that the Fall middle school sports seasons have been cancelled. The affected sports are boys' baseball, girls' softball, golf & cross country. Girls' basketball is scheduled to begin on August 31st. A decision on their season will be made at an IESA meeting in late August. We are still awaiting guidance from the IHSA regarding the high school Fall sports. We are extremely disappointed that our student athletes will not be able to participate in the activities that play such an important role in their school lives. #WeAreIC

​Illini Central CUSD#189 is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the 2020-2021 school year. The CNA will assist the district's nurse in the administration of the Health Services as described in the Illini Central Board Policy Manual: the Illinois State Board of Education guidelines: and the rules and regulations of the Illinois Department of Public Health. ​Anticipate work hours will follow the school day (approximately 35 hours per week). Candidates must possess at least a valid certified nursing assistant license. Last night, the 8th grade Lady Cougars advanced to the Regional Semi-Final with a 25-12 & 25-15 win. Tonight, they head back to Mt. Pulaski to take on Springfield Blessed Sacrament. 1st serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wishing the Lady Cougars well this evening. #WeAreIC

I was joking with Kyndel that we were going to change the name to The Kyndel Arthalony Sports Network. She has been named to both the AP & the IBCA All-State 2nd Teams along with her All-Conference honors. Tomorrow, she shoots to the be The Queen of the Hill in Illinois. You can watch Kyndel shoot in person at Redbird Arena in Normal, on TV or online at 12:30. Kyndel will be escorted out of Mason City by a firetruck tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. & will follow one through San Jose on her way to Normal. If you get a chance...help us send her off. Congratulations, Kyndel on all of your post season honors & we wish you well tomorrow! #WeAreIC

This evening, Kyndel Arthalony advanced to the Final 4 shooters in the IHSA Class 1A Three-Point Showdown. She will shoot again tomorrow between the two Semi-Final games of the State Tournament at approximately 12:45. If a link is available...I will post a link to watch tomorrow morning.
