Good Monday morning, Cougar fans! Here is what we have on the schedule to get this busy week started. The ICMS Volleyball teams take on Delavan in Easton for their matches with the Lady Panthers. 1st serve of the 7th grade match is scheduled for 6 p.m. *Please note...yesterday, I accidentally put this was an away game on my graphic. I apologize. The Lady Cougars host the South Fork Lady Ponies in a non-conference game. Tip for this game is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Cougars will restart their game with the Spartans from Olympia after the weather on December 10th caused the game to be postponed. This will be Varsity only since the JV game was completed. The tip will follow the Lady Cougar game approximately 7:30. It is a 7th grade Saturday in Illini Central Sports. The 7th Grade Lady Cougar Volleyball team is hosting a tournament as I type this...our girls play at these times: 8 a.m. v. Hartem Approx. 10 a.m. v. Limestone Approx. 1 p.m. v. Dee-Mack The 7th grade Cougar Basketball team team heads to Buffalo Tri-City this morning for their IESA Regional game v. Tremont. The ICHS Scholastic Bowl team hosts the Illini Bluffs Tigers in a meet starting at 5 p.m. The ICMS Boys' Basketball team heads to Pekin Edison for their games. Tonight's JH Boys Basketball game has been canceled. Since this was supposed to be 8th grade night, we will still honor those cheerleaders and basketball players. We will now be honoring our 8th grade athletes in Mason City in between the JV and Varsity boys basketball game. That ceremony will begin around 7:00 (approximately), but athletes should arrive by 6:30. The IDPH and ISBE have released new guidelines for returning to school for students and staff who have had COVID or were deemed close contacts. Go to the "News" section of the website for further details.

Any basketball fans planning to head to Clinton on Saturday will need to purchase an online ticket before heading over. Only one ticket needs to be purchased to watch both the girls and boys play. On December 31, we we notified by the Illinois State Board of Education that the new CDC/IDPH 5-day COVID guidelines do not apply to school districts. These are guidelines for the general public onlly. As a result, there are no changes to the number of days that a person with COVID or a close contact to a positive COVID individual will be excluded from school.

This morning, the IC Cougars basketball team finished the Williamsville Holiday Tournament with a win vs. the Rockets from Roanoke Benson, 45-44. The Cougars will be off until the New Year when they travel to Midwest Central on Tuesday, January 4th. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy
