A big day on the construction site… the concrete for the gym floor is being poured today! The final gym floor will be wood, but the concretehas to be done first.The mezzanine (for the air handler unit) was also poured this week. It’s looking more and more like a school!

Good Morning Middle School Parents/Guardians, Tuesday, May 14th is our final PBIS reward trip. We will be going to the Peoria Chiefs Game. Lunch is provided. Lunch is a hot dog, chips, and a drink. Other snacks can be purchased at the game. Students must be passing all classes by Friday, May 10th at noon and be referral-free to attend the trip. Behavior goes up until the day of the trip. Students will be notified if they are not able to attend by the end of the day Friday, May 10th. A message will also be sent home on Rooms.

Sign ups have started for Lady Cougar Volleyball Camp. The camp will be open to students currently in grades K-7. Forms were sent home with the ICGS students. Next Tuesday, April 23rd...Mu Alpha Theta will be hosting an after school tutoring session in Mr. Tobolaski's room (58) until 4 p.m. It's one of the last sessions before the end of the school year, so if students need extra help in classes, it's highly suggested to come. Attention Middle School Parents, Tomorrow begins IAR testing for middle school students. IAR testing is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week (April 9th - 11th). All middle school students are required to take these tests. Please ensure, as much as possible, that your student is present and on time on these days of school, otherwise they will have to make up these tests during instructional times. A Monday morning update on the building progress... Concrete in the classroom and wall construction of team and storage rooms. They are almost done with the gym roof!

Alliance Community Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Lilly Anderson with the February Student of the Month Award. For demonstrating outstanding character, Lilly receives an Amazon gift card from Alliance Community Bank and an Amazon gift card from the Illini Central High School faculty. Lilly is the daughter of Nate and Erin Anderson. Lilly has shown great resolve and excellence this year while taking Chemistry, American Government and Civics, Web Design, Probability and Statistics, Duel Credit Psychology, Duel Credit Communications, Basic Ag. Science, Independent Art Study, Duel Credit English Composition. Lilly is the FFA President, National Honors Society Vice President, a member of the Spanish Club, Art Club, Kindness Club, November/December Respectful Student of the Month, FFA Greenhand Degree, FFA Chapter degree, FFA State Degree, Varsity Volleyball. Outside of school, Lilly is involved in Peaceful Valley 4H, Velocity Club Volleyball, Mason County Jr. Fair Board, Swim Team, and the 2023 Fall Festival Queen. After graduation, Lilly plans to attend Illinois Community College or Lincoln Land Community College and then transfer to a university. Congratulations, Lilly!
