Athlete Spotlight - Mireya Francis

Mireya Francis, Junior, is the daughter of Gina Francis of Mason City. During her high school career at ICHS, Mireya has participated in golf, cheerleading, and volleyball.

Her favorite sports memory up to this point is, “During last year's girls golf regionals, all of us girls playing went out for a practice round then went out to eat. It was freezing and raining but everyone still had fun. It showed that it’s the people who are with you that matters the most.”

Mireya says that her favorite subject in school this year is Spanish, but Art will always be her favorite class. Spanish is her favorite this year because the teacher makes class fun and enjoyable.

The reason that Mireya enjoys participating in sports is because it makes her feel motivated. When she is not participating in sports, Mireya enjoys sketching.

Mireya enjoys the movie, “The Proposal,” and her favorite food is taco pizza. When asked for her favorite quote Mireya said, “I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love.”

After graduation Mireya plans to move into the cosmetology field.

ICHS thanks Mireya for all of her hard work and dedication to Cougar athletics up to this point, and we wish her success in the future.
